A Shiv shishya or Shiv shisya is a disciple of Lord Shiva who worships Shiva as their Guruteacher, in the Hindu religion.It is mentioned in various texts of Hindus that Lord Shiva works as teacher.One of the primary 'Shlokes',preching of hindus state that 'Guru Brahama Guru Vishnu Guru Devo Maheshwara',which also tells the existence of Shiva as Guru. == Description == Tulsidas, who wrote ''Ramcharitmanas'', a Hindu holy book, considered himself as a disciple of Lord Shiva. In his poem ''Hanuman Chalisa'' he wrote ''Shree Guru Charana Saroj Raja Nij Man Mukura Sudhari'', where "Shree Guru" refers to Lord Shiva. Many Hindu followers consider Shiva to be their Guru. It is estimated that there are 2 million devotees in India, residing in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal, who worship Shiva as their Guru.
